A.R.Rahman music going to bang Malayalam Music

After his one of the debut movies as a music director ‘Yodha’ , one of the world’s favourite musician A R Rahman definitely reared million of fans in the state of Kerala. But never he attempted something for Malayalam films. Many of his Tamil ventures featured Malayalam lyrics and Kerala music, as a tribute to an industry that helped him and his family to stay on. But the recent news offer something for the Mollywood cinephiles to cheer. Yes, ARR will be soon heard in Malayalam as has agreed to be a part of the magnum opus historical ‘Randaamoozham’ directed by Hariharan in the scripts of M T Vasudevan Nair. Mohanlal will be in the role of Bheeman in this literary adaptation, which may also feature south Indian stalwarts like Kamal Haasan and Mammooty as Duryodhanana and Karnan. Pitched as the costliest ever movie ever made in Malayalam, ‘Randaamoozham’ will be on sets by the mid of 2012

National award winning Malayali director Jayaraj completed shooting a 1hour 11 minute duration film in just 2 hours and 14 minutes at Ramoji film city. The shooting started at 11:46 am and was completed by 2 pm.

There are chances of this film bagging a place in Guinness Book of World Records for being the film shot in shortest time. Euthanasia patients Tory (USA) and Venkatesh (Hyderabad) have inspired the story of this film. Suresh Gopi, Lalitha, Mamatha Mohandas, Lawrence (UK), Chris (Sweden) Emily (France) and actors from Delhi and Kolkota participated in the shooting of this film

Raman Police in planning stage

Shaji Kailas has started preparation for his movie which was titled Raman Police. The movie will have Mohanlal in the lead role. Shaji will complete a movie with Mammootty in the lead role before attempting Mohanlal.After playing a soft spoken IPS officer in Baba Kalyani directed by Shaji Kailas, Malayalam super star Mohanlal has tailored a khakhi uniform for another Police officer in Raman Police, scripted by A.K. Sajan. Interestingly Mohanlal’s last outing with Shaji was the unforgettable Red Chillies.Raman Police is an attempt of Shaji to bring to life another super human police officer character. This movie which is expected to release during Onam 2010 has a big budget. Shaji is presently involved with the shooting of his Prithviraj starrer movie Raghupathy Raghava Rajaram, at the locations of Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode. Raghupathi, Raghav and Rajaram are the names of Prithviraj's three characters who lives in these three cities.

Mammootty and Prithviraj are brothers in Pollachi Raja

Mammootty who is known for promoting talents will once again partner with Prithviraj in the movie Pollachi Raja which was earlier titled Pokkiri Raja. Mammooty introduced directors Blessy, Lal Jose, Anwar Rasheed and Amal Neerad. He also introduced and backed many comedians like Bijukkuttan, Suraaj Venjarammood etc. Mammootty played a character named Bellary Raja in the super hit Rajamanikyam. In this film mega star is getting ready to enact another Raja character, Pollachi Raja.Prithviraj who became an integral part of Malayalam films have proved to be a solo hero with the success of Puthiya Mugham. He will be seen as Mammootty’s brother in Pollachi Raja in which he replaced Narain. Prithvi’s character will be Sudhi. Planned with Narain this change is due to the clash of dates that Narain had, since his big project in Tamil Pookkada Ravi is not completed.This is the second time Prithviraj is getting a chance to share the screen with Mammootty. Their first outing was with Bipin Prabhakar directed One-way Ticket, which didn’t fare well at the box office. Prithviraj was seen as jeep driver who is an ardent fan of superstar Mammootty. Mammootty did a cameo role in the movie. Casting is brought by debutante director Vaishakh Abraham, who will start directing the stars from January. Director Vaishak was earlier a television anchor and associate of directors Johnny Antony and Joshy. The filmmaker is on the look out for two suitable heroines for this movie. Sibi K Thomas Udhaya Krishna team is in the scripting department and P. Sukumar will be in charge of the camera. Jassie Gift will score the music. Other crews are to be decided. Produced by Tomichchan Mulagupaadam under the banner of Mulagupaadam Films it will be distributed by Mulakupadam release. Pollachi Raja will be the Vishu offering of Mammooty and Prithviraj.
